Ji Chang Wook Osaka FM Report (07.06.2014)

After his successful fanmeeting in Tokyo, Japan, Ji Chang Wook went to Osaka for round 2 of “The Secret Show” fanmeeting. He left South Korea on 6 June 2014 from Gimpo Airport and landed that evening on Kansai International Airport.

Here's the story from audiences that attend the FM directly, mostly from @CherKell from JCW soompi thread:
MC told the audience to call out for JCW to come on stage. Someone yelled "oppaaaa!" but the MC said some of you are too old to call him oppa. So audience ended up calling him "Chang-kun" instead. ("kun" = “ is like "sir" or "-ssi".  Japan is all about utilizing the proper title (parents, teachers, elders, youngsters, boys, girls, etc.), and -kun is used as the informal title given to a Japanese male that is the same age or younger than you.  And since 2/3rds of the crowd was in their 30's and above, totally appropriate.)

Just like his Tokyo fanmeet, they played his coffee drama, he sang "Though I Loved You", and also gave a rose to an audience member. And we ran into that fan at dinner (we're out eating yakiniku too, but not at the same restaurant where Wookie's crew is dining) -- her name is Maru and she was almost fainting while waiving around that rose.  She kept repeating it was the "best day of her life ever."

There was a slideshow of various photos of him taken from behind-the-scenes and his daily life, including photos taken during his recent trip around Japan. He would explain each photo. After his hot spring bath at Beppu during his trip, he went to have dinner and then passed out almost immediately in bed. His manager Bang Chigu snapped a photo of him sleeping, so he said he has to be careful of his manager now. They flashed Bang Manager's picture of him sleeping on the screen.  SQUEALS of delight!!!

He talked a lot about Empress Ki. He said he ate a lot of food during his trip around Japan and put on a lot of weight. He even has a tummy now, and people made fun of him. He is now working on building up his muscles for his next project. (That’s why he looks like put on some weight. It’s because eating and working out.)
He said he usually drinks two glasses of alcohol when he's working, but drinks more when he isn't working. He said he would cook fried rice for his girlfriend if he gets one. He likes rice a lot.

No camera is allowed inside the stage. the Camera Nazis did remove one attendee who stood in the back of the auditorium taking pictures with her mobile phone. That’s why there’s so little photos of him in the auditorium.
The audience agreed that the songs sounded better at these shows than at Tokyo, and that the Osaka crowd was more engaged with the events on stage than the more "reserved" Tokyo audience (lots more squeeeeing and applause).

For some unknown reason, the "handkerchief sniffing" scene (In Empress Ki episode 15) was discussed in great detail.  He looked rather uncomfortable trying to explain it, as the MC asked if that handkerchief will now "go into a museum under locked guard."  (Sorry, best translation we all could come up with)

Sings "To The Butterfly"

LOTS of teary eyes as he was singing "To Butterfly."  We all (softly, of course) joined in on the "kajimaeyo" end of the song. He really put his best performance when singing “To The Butterfly.”

The High-Touch was a total scrum.  How do you get 500 attendees through that in less than the 10 minutes he had remaining?  We were warned no conversation, no gifts, no autographs, just don't do anything but get your hand slapped and shuffle along.

There was a small incident after the 18:00 show as JCW was being escorted to his van -- there was some pushing-and-shoving by the security guards of a few fans who they thought were getting a little too close to His Hotness.  We aren't the only ones a bit dismayed over their tactics; several tables over, there's a group of obachans discussing the very same thing.  It was uncharacteristically rather thug-like, to say the least.

He left Japan the next day. His flight from Kansai Airport was at 11:55 AM. He wears black t-shirt from Diesel that has the writing “MORE KAOS”. I wonder who design that shirt because “kaos” is Indonesian word for t-shirt.

Few more photos:
Oh look, first meal & drinks in Japan after landing at the New Otani Hotel

This one from sakisaki -- she made the 'piggy' card but the buttons and note pads behind it were for sale at the merchandise stand

Thank you for sharing the story and pictures! :)

Ji Chang Wook Tokyo Fanmeeting (17.05.2014) part 2

To pick up where we left off, the part 1 highlighted what happened at the fanmeeting and JCW's songs sang at the FM. The part 2 will highlight what happened in Questions and Answers session.

First, there was some photos of Ji Chang Wook shown on screen.

First was Ji Chang Wok in full diving suit with a coach underwater. There seems to be a camera on the side.
Second photo was a photo with actor Jo Jae Yoon (Golta in Empress Ki)
Then Ji Chang Wook cooking as cooking ambassador for Daejeon in 2012. Ji Chang Wook said he doesn’t really know how to cook.

And JCW playing PlayStation with his manager at home wearing singlet. The game was football game, he is really craze with football.
And the photo from Empress Ki where he was playing with the python.

Then there was a video of the two actors in the MV giving him encouragement. After Q and A ended, JCW changed his clothes again and to start the high five session. MC said a lot and finally JCW sang “To The Butterfly” (OST Empress Ki).  Of the 6 songs, this was the one he sang most powerfully. Towards the end, he put his hand on his chest and was very engrossed with the singing.

High five with fans
After JCW got off the stage, he and stand near the exit for the high five. After high five with him, people exit straight away,  here I must complained that JCW kept bowing while doing the high five so I can’t gauge how tall he really is, but roughly he should be 180cm and above. JCW’s palm is very soft and hot. His face is very small and graceful with big eyes but you don’t feel that he is feminine.
His whole demeanor is very gentleman and humble. He really look like a European royalty. I was wondering if he dyed his hair would he look like a European runway model. The audience was full of young girls all dolled up and Japanese aunties that are dressed in lace with ribbons in their hair. Hahah those aunties are really cute!

With regards to filming underwater, the depth of the water need to be at least 5metres so that’s why we ended up filming in a swimming pool. The MC asks if he is afraid of water, does he knows how to swim? He replied: I like to swim and I like water. Previously I have tried to learn abit of diving, hence the filming this time round was quite smooth.
Filming underwater/rose petal kiss
With regards to HJW, he smiled and say, it’s the first time we work together, I am really very happy because the co-star makes me very comfortable hence the filming was fun.
And then the screen flash up a photo of him with the python.
Ji Chang Wook and the python
He said, this was filmed in the mountains because the scene was about my fear of snakes, hence the snake become by co-star (laugh). This is the first time I am touching a snake, it was very interesting filming with one. Because I was not bitten, so I am sitting here (laugh). If it was poisonous then there won’t be this photo.

With regards to the plans for the rest of 2014, he said he is still waiting for a good project. In future, I will meet all of you with a better project. In future, I want to be a good actor, one that can bring you laughter. To become an actor that can laugh and cry with many people. After that he bow to the audience and everyone applaud. He expressed his thanks to his fans by saying “Thanks for giving me such a warm welcome when I arrived. Thank you very much for your persistent support. Spending such great time with everyone, thank you so much. Finally, he used Japanese to say “Thank you everyone”.
